Background
The US Geological Survey (USGS) is issuing a solicitation for the Landsat Science Team to conduct research on selected aspects of the Landsat Mission. The goal of this contract is to leverage scientific expertise to enhance the capabilities and continuity of Landsat data, which is critical for various applications in natural resources and environmental research. The USGS aims to support NASA and other partners through this initiative, ensuring that the Landsat program meets the evolving needs of its user community.

Work Details
The contractor will perform research related to the Landsat Science Team, focusing on:
- Earth Observation Data Characterization and Inter-operability, including collaboration with the EROS Center Calibration & Validation Center.
- Development of methods for integrating Landsat data with other satellite data sources.
- Support for future Landsat collection processing and algorithm development.
- Assessment of future measurement requirements for the evolution of the SLI Program and subsequent Landsat missions.
- Conducting scientific research and sharing results with USGS, NASA, and other partners. Specific tasks include:
- Atmospheric correction techniques that account for uncertainty calculations.
- Large area processing demonstrations using advanced computational architectures.
- Development of analysis-ready Landsat archive data products using cloud technologies.
- Assessing readiness of Landsat data products for environmental change detection.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a base year from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026, with four additional option years extending through January 31, 2030.

Place of Performance
The work will primarily be performed at the contractor's facilities but may involve collaboration with USGS facilities located at 12201 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA.
