The effort Landing Autonomous Navigation Technology for Enhanced Recovery to Navy Ships (LANTERNS)shall provide, in the base contract, technical products such as analyses, simulation models, link budgets, test reports, and prototypes required to demonstrate a Preliminary Design Review level design of a waveform solution for autonomous landing that meets datalink bandwidth and range goals defined in the LANTERNS Design Requirements Annex while operating in the prescribed environments. This effort shall investigate waveform solutions that can meet these performance goals. The effort, in the option, shall include tasking towards the development, testing, and laboratory demonstration of a ship-to-aircraft communication system in an operationally relevant environment that meets the performance goals outlined in the LANTERNS Design Requirements Annex.
