Pre-Solicitation Notice For CARDIA CC   2

Background
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is issuing a pre-solicitation notice for Coordinating Center support services for the Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults (CARDIA) Study. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide Coordinating Center support services for the CARDIA study, which began in 1985 in four U.S communities. The Coordinating Center will be responsible for maximizing the use of data and samples, addressing new questions about the development and progression of clinical cardiovascular disease and related conditions. The scientific objectives are to enhance statistical power to perform analyses of predictors of clinical events, study the progression of risk factors to subclinical to clinical CVD, and identify new risk factors or interactions among factors that inform disease pathophysiology.

The operational goals are to support the field centers to continue cohort follow-up and data collection on clinical events, foster scientific collaborations, and support the field centers in the conduct of a limited clinical examination of the CARDIA participants as a platform for ancillary study examination components.

Work Details
The Contractor shall be required to furnish all necessary services, qualified personnel, material, equipment, and facilities needed to perform the Statement of Work. The Contractor shall submit reports in electronic format and one hardcopy to NIH. The technical progress reports containing interim study data should include a legend stating that the data are preliminary and not intended for public use. Technical progress reports will be required annually with a requirement for a Draft Annual Report and upon final completion of the contract. The Contractor will also be required to prepare and submit a summary of salient results achieved during the performance of the contract. Additionally, contractors shall adhere to NIH policy regarding enhancing reproducibility through rigor and transparency by addressing specific areas in performance of work and publications, as applicable.

The period of performance for this contract is from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2033.
