Purchase of Virgin Palladium Sponge   2

Background
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Albuquerque Complex intends to award a sole source contract to Colonial Metals, Inc. (CMI) for the procurement of virgin palladium sponge meeting the requirements of specification ASTM B 589-94, with a sulfur content of < 5 ppm. The material is to be delivered to the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina. The contractor will be required to provide a Certificate of Compliance validating the product meets all specifications and specify the refining process that was used.

Work Details
The Department of Energy desires to procure virgin palladium sponge meeting the requirements of specification ASTM B 589-94, and the sponge must also contain < 5 ppm sulfur.
The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) conducted extensive market research and issued a Sources Sought/Request for Information, receiving only one capability statement from Colonial Metals, Inc. (CMI). The contractor is required to provide a Certificate of Compliance validating the product meets all specifications and specify the refining process that was used.
