Background
The contract is issued by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii, which is responsible for providing facilities engineering and construction services to support the Navy's mission.

The goal of this contract is to construct a high-bay aircraft maintenance hangar and associated facilities at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) in Kaneohe Bay, HI, specifically for the C-40 aircraft. This project is part of the FY23 Military Construction (MCON) initiative.

Work Details
The scope of work for Project P-2001 includes: constructing a high-bay aircraft maintenance hangar with low-rise space for administration, maintenance, and storage of aircraft and spares; installing a low-level fire protection system; implementing fire sprinkler systems; and establishing a fire alarm and mass notification system.

The project will utilize the Eagle Quantum Premier Fire Detection and Releasing Control Unit from Det-Tronics, which includes monitoring capabilities for X3301 Multispectrum Infrared Flame Detectors to detect ignitable liquid fuel fires. The control unit will provide automatic detection, annunciation, and fire suppression system releasing services.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be capable of providing the proprietary Eagle Quantum Premier Fire Detection/Releasing Control Unit specified by Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 4-211-01. There are no plans to compete future contracts for these types of supplies/services due to the specialized nature of the required equipment.
