Description

Program/Equipment: Continuity of Services for the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Liberty, NC for Multi-Function Devices (MFDs), W91247-19-F-0819 P00009

Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) as implemented by FAR 16.505(b)(2)(C) - The order must be issued on a sole-source basis in the interest of economy and efficiency because it is a logical follow-on to an order already issued under the contract, provided that all awardees were given a fair opportunity to be considered for the original order.

Background
The contract is issued by the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Liberty, NC, to ensure continuity of services for Multi-Function Devices (MFDs). The incumbent contractor, MicroTechnologies, LLC, was awarded the original task order W91247-19-F-0819 on September 16, 2019, as a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. This justification is based on the need for uninterrupted service during the transition to a follow-on contract that will be competitively procured by DLA.

The total value of this extension is $160,735.60.

Work Details
The services required under this contract include the maintenance and support of 460 MFDs currently fielded by MicroTechnologies. The continuity of services is essential to avoid disruption while DLA places a competitive order for a long-term follow-on requirement. The justification highlights that transitioning to a new vendor would incur significant startup costs and would not be feasible for the short duration until the new contract is awarded.

The extension allows both incumbent and follow-on contractors to operate in a phased manner to maintain operational continuity.
