8(a) Small Business Multiple Award Construction Contract

Background
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Washington requires a follow-on 8(a) Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC) for new construction, repairs, and renovations of various facilities within its area of responsibility, including Washington, Maryland, and Virginia.

Work Details
The contract encompasses a wide range of construction tasks including low voltage construction, installation, maintenance, and removal of teledata facilities such as voice, data, and video systems.

It involves work on outside plant telephone and data inside wire, interconnect terminal equipment, central offices, PABX systems, fiber optic cable and equipment.

Additional tasks include railroad communications, microwave systems, VSAT bypass systems, CATV WANs (Wide Area Networks), LANs (Local Area Networks), ISDN (Integrated Systems Digital Network), elevator mechanics work with paid holidays and vacation contributions based on service years.

Ironworker tasks include structural and ornamental work as well as reinforcing ironwork.

Skilled laborer tasks involve operating power tools and small machines for various construction activities.

Marble/stone masonry includes pointing, caulking, and cleaning of masonry except restoration work.

Terrazzo worker/setter tasks involve setting terrazzo materials while finishers complete the finishing touches. Tile setting and finishing are also included.

Glazier work varies based on contract value with different rates for contracts under or over $2 million.

Painting tasks include brush, roller spray applications and drywall finishing. Plastering involves applying plaster to surfaces while cement mason/concrete finisher tasks involve finishing concrete surfaces.

Fireproofing includes handling materials for fireproofing applications using various methods such as spraying or hand application. Plumbing tasks involve installing plumbing systems with paid holidays included in the compensation package. Pipefitting includes HVAC pipe installation with specified paid holidays.
