Description

The United States Department of Transportation's (DOT) mission is to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce economic costs associated with motor vehicle crashes. In support of DOT's mission objectives, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) promulgates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). Manufacturers of motor vehicles and items of motor vehicle equipment are required to certify that each product they sell in the United States meets the requirements of all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).

Background

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide the qualified personnel, facilities, materials, supplies, equipment and services necessary to perform inspection, compliance testing, and reporting services to determine conformance of motor vehicles to the requirements of various Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
The contract anticipates awarding one or more Indefinite-Delivery-Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contracts whereby Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Task Orders or delivery orders shall be issued. The contract includes detailed pricing schedules for known requirements and optional requirements covering various FMVSS compliance tests.

Period of Performance
The contract period covers multiple years with specific periods for base period and option periods. The contract includes a detailed schedule for pricing covering different periods of performance.
