679-19-101 Correct Critical Access and ADA Deficiencies B61   3

Background
The project is being issued by the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) for the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, which aims to enhance accessibility and safety within its facilities.

The goal of this contract is to correct critical access and ADA deficiencies in Building 61, ensuring compliance with VA guidelines and improving the overall functionality of the medical center.

Work Details
The contractor is required to supply all materials, supervision, and labor necessary to complete Project 679-19-101, which includes:

- Renovation of the connecting corridor between Buildings 4 and 61;
- Modification of the floor slope to meet VA guidelines;
- Installation of a new HVAC system;
- Installation of lighting and fire protection systems;
- Application of finishes;
- Construction of a railing system;
- Demolition of portions of the existing connector/corridor as needed for the new work.

Additionally, all work must comply with applicable NFPA and NEC codes, as well as VA safety rules and regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 365 calendar days from the date of award.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center located at 3701 Loop Road East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35494.
