DESCRIPTION: This is a sources sought to determine the availability of potential sources having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform/provide the SPECIFIED REQUIREMENT. All interested vendors are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought synopsis only. Questions should be submitted by email to millicent.covert@va.gov. Provide only the requested information below. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (Service Disabled/Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB/VOSB), Hub-zone, 8(a), small, small disadvantage, woman-owned small business, or large business) relative to NAICS 238330 Flooring Contractors. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on the Contract Opportunities website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to any future solicitation announcements. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this sources sought announcement. The Regional Procurement Office (RPO) - East is seeking sources that for service contract for floor resurfacing of the Veterinary Medical Unit (VMU) the Atlanta VAMC. The aging flooring is allowing leaks to administrative offices below. The flooring no longer meets requirements of the site visitor inspector due to cracks, gaps, and chips. Floor must be sealed. A service contract is needed to ensure that timely repairs are made so sanitation can be maintained. Existing equipment will also need to be moved before floor can be serviced. Vendor shall service the entire VMU, including hallways, procedure rooms, cage wash area, and laboratories (breakroom not included) approximately 13,860 SF. Location: Atlanta VA Medical Center 1670 Clairmont Road Decatur, GA 30033 Services of interested parties must be able to: Move equipment and furniture to storage area Meet salient characteristics for flake floors: Mechanically prepare substrate Apply protect 0075 @14mils Broadcast flake Apply 0075 @12mils Apply UR 2100 @3.5 mils Include 4 radial cove (up to 2,075 LF). ChromaFlake Blend B311 1/8 Flake Protective Industrial Polymers are needed to seal floors to prevent leaks (or equivalent) Note that the compressive strength is 10,500 PSI which is the same as an epoxy trowel mortar system. The tensile strength of 7500 PSI is 3 times that of the epoxy trowel system. The tensile strength an indication of the systems resistance ability to pull apart horizontally and withstand movement, resulting in durability and longevity. The urethane topcoat provides additional durability, scratch resistance, chemical resistance, and UV stability (meaning the floor will not amber or yellow from the exposure to UV lighting.). The final coat of high wear urethane must have chemical resistance to withstand the sanitation and disinfecting solutions used within a pharmaceutical or related environment. (h) State whether your firm is registered with SAM System for Award Management https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/#1 and/or the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Veteran Small Business Certification (VetCert) Registry at https://veterans.certify.sba.gov/. If not, please NOTE: any future solicitation could only be awarded to a contractor who is registered in SAM and to receive award based on SDVOSB or VOSB status you must be registered in the Veteran Small Business Certification (VetCert) Registry. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement.
