San Francisco VA- Chemistry A1C, SPEP, & IT (Two Analyzers) *Notice of Intent to Sole Source*   2

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office 21, is issuing a sole source contract to Sebia, Inc. for the provision of necessary equipment, reagents, and consumables to perform specific laboratory tests. The goal of this contract is to support the San Francisco VA Medical Center in conducting Hemoglobin A1c testing, Serum Protein Electrophoresis (SPEP), and related immunotyping services. This contract aims to enhance the laboratory's capabilities in providing accurate and timely diagnostic services.

Work Details
The contract includes the delivery of two analyzers capable of performing Capillary Zone Electrophoresis for the following tests:
- Hemoglobin A1c: 30,000 patient samples per year
- % Carbohydrate Deficient Transferrin: 100 patient tests per year
- Serum Protein Electrophoresis: 5,000 patient samples per year
- Follow-up Immunotyping on positive protein electrophoresis: 2,000 patient samples per year.

Specifications for the analyzers include:
- Must perform HbA1c testing at least 30 samples per hour directly from an EDTA collection tube.
- Certified by the National Glycohemoglobin Standardization Program with minimal interferences from various hemoglobin variants.
- Automated electrophoresis with a throughput of at least 60 samples per hour.
- Ability to connect two instruments for data transmission.
- All necessary hardware and software updates provided at no additional charge.

The total award amount includes provisions for all reagents and consumables required for the specified tests.
