Description & Salient Characteristics

1) Robotics:

• Must have all 6 joints robotic.
• Must have robotics with foot pedal or handgrip that can move robotically in real time or to previously saved bookmarks to return to orientation in space, focus, and magnification at the press of a button. Must have an unlimited number of bookmarks that can be saved and verified with real time image overlay.
• Must be able to allow surgeon to rapidly move microscope to new orientations with one button to stay locked on a point and dynamically change zoom and focus.
• When bumped, must be able to immediately correct to eliminate bounce/movement. This is crucial especially for procedures working under high magnification.
• The robotics must allow the surgeon to fully integrate with navigation, follow registered ports or probes to move as the surgeon moves automatically with all 6 degrees of freedom.
• When sterile draped, nurse can use foot pedal to robotically move up and out of the way to avoid drape contamination in tight areas while waiting to be used.

2) Operating system/computer/video:

• Must use Windows 10.
• Must allow surgeon to record video from no less than 5 minutes in the past.
• High-Definition capabilities

3) Staff engagement:

• Must have two attached screens in order to help assistants and nurses stay engaged with the case and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Must have one touch balancing due to the robotic nature.

4) Support:

Must be capable of remote access in order for service, real time trouble shooting, and service call preplanning to eliminate microscope downtime
