Description

Electrophoresis and Immunofixation Cost Per Test (CPT)
Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to procure electrophoresis and immunofixation services to support the clinical laboratories at various VA facilities. The goal of this contract is to ensure the availability of necessary testing capabilities for patient care, adhering to the standards set by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) and the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI). This acquisition is aimed at enhancing laboratory operations within VISN 12, which includes facilities in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Hines, Illinois.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide Capillary and Gel Electrophoresis/Immunofixation analyzers capable of performing the following tests:
- Serum protein electrophoresis
- Urine protein electrophoresis
- Immunofixation electrophoresis (IFE)
- Alkaline phosphatase isoenzymes
- High resolution electrophoresis (CSF)
- Immunotyping (Immunodisplacement)

Estimated annual volumes for each site are as follows:
- VA Hines: 4031 serum protein tests, 1093 urine protein tests, 274 IFE tests.
- VA Milwaukee: 3525 serum protein tests, 1040 urine protein tests, 436 IFE tests.

The contractor must provide a cost per test that includes:
1. 5-year equipment use
2. All reagents, standards, quality controls, supplies, consumables
3. Maintenance for equipment operation
4. Training for Government personnel
5. Delivery, installation, and removal of equipment at no additional charge.

Period of Performance
The contract will have five one-year ordering periods.

Place of Performance
Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, Illinois.
