Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Oscar G Johnson VA Medical Center, is seeking to acquire an automated rapid multiplex real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test system. This system is intended for the simultaneous qualitative detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A, Influenza B, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) from anterior nasal swab specimens.

The goal is to improve veteran care by providing faster turnaround times for testing and diagnosis of respiratory viral infections.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide FDA-approved or authorized by FDA under an EUA, CLIA-waived, rapid PCR-based point-of-care analyzers and assays for the detection of SARS-CoV-2, RSV, and Influenza A & B viruses simultaneously in a nasal swab specimen. The contract includes:
- Eight (8) RT-PCR test instruments with reagents and service for performing tests.
- The instruments must be capable of producing rapid results (approximately 30 minutes) and require minimal sample manipulation.
- The system must connect to the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and RALS middleware.
- Compliance with biohazardous waste disposal requirements.
- A firm fixed price cost per test with a minimum guarantee of $50,000.00 and a ceiling amount of $800,000.00 over the contract's life.

Period of Performance
The desired duration of the contract is a base year plus four option years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations within the Oscar G Johnson VA Medical Center Community Based Outreach Clinics (CBOCs) in Iron Mountain, MI.
