Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for the purpose of acquiring fully automated Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining instruments and special staining instruments. The goal is to enhance the capabilities of the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV, by providing advanced instrumentation that meets specific operational requirements for histological testing.

Work Details
The contractor will provide, transport, install, and test fully automated Immunohistochemical and special staining instruments. The contract includes all reagents and consumables necessary for operation, as well as preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services. Key specifications include:
- Automated baking, deparaffinization, independent slide heating, and staining with special stains.
- Capability to perform dual and triple IHC stains efficiently.
- Ability to process slides individually without interrupting workflow.
- Visual interface for monitoring patient samples.
- High-quality stain production with multiple runs possible during an 8-hour day.
- Both instruments must be barcode driven with walk-away automation.
- Must have FDA and IVD approval.

The contract will operate on a cost-per-reportable-slide/test basis. Specific tests included are P63, CK5/6, BerEP4, HMB45, among others. The contractor is also required to provide training for personnel at the vendor's expense including travel accommodations.

Period of Performance
Base period from May 1, 2025 to April 30, 2026 with four additional option years.
