Notice of Intent
This is a notice of intent to solicit from a single source.
The purpose of this notice is to satisfy the requirements of FAR Subpart 5.101(a)(1) and FAR 5.2. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible parties may submit a quotation by the closing date of this announcement which shall be considered by the agency. No solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Earthquake Science Center (ESC) intends to award a purchase order to R.T. Clark for SmartSolo IGU-16HR 3C nodal seismometers to fulfill the need for timely response to earthquakes by ESC's field offices in Seattle and Pasadena.
The NAICS code for this action is 334519, Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing, with an associated size standard of 600 employees; the PSC code is 6655 Geophysical Instruments.
Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.5 entitled, Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Products and Commercial Services, FAR 13.106-1(b), and the procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items. R.T. Clark is, to the USGS' knowledge, the only source who can provide the equipment with the required technical specifications that are compatible with USGS Earthquake Science Center's existing network of nodal seismometers (SmartSolo IGU-16HR 3C ) with the same software and auxiliary equipment. R.T. Clark is the sole distributor of SmartSolo nodal seismometer systems.

Responses submitted by hardcopy or any web portal shall not be accepted nor considered.
