NISC utilizes various DNA sequencer platforms, with Illumina being the most cost-effective and popular among NIH investigators. The center performs quick quality control runs on MiSeq Systems to minimize risks associated with costly sequencing instruments.

This contract aims to procure two Illumina MiSeq i100 Plus Systems to replace aging equipment that will soon be unsupported by the vendor, ensuring continued support for intramural research experiments.

Work Details
The contract involves the purchase of two Illumina MiSeq i100 Plus Systems. The specific requirements for the systems include:
- Installation in cooperation with the Purchaser.
- Flexible sequencing configurations.
- All reagents must be contained in one cartridge for loading.
- Capability to produce 1.5-30Gb of sequence per run.
- Ability to provide paired-end 300 base sequencing reads with consistent high quality throughout the read.
- Run time must be less than 16 hours.
- Onboard analysis for a variety of sequencing library types is required.
- Reagents must have a recommended storage temperature of ambient and must not contain formamide.

Additionally, the equipment must arrive in intact shipping containers with appropriate cushioning, and reagents should have an expiration date at least three months in the future.
