Nikon LunF-XL 4-Line Laser Combiner

Background
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Office of Acquisitions (OA), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive sole source basis to Nikon Instruments Inc. to provide the Nikon LunF-XL 4-Line Laser Combiner to the NHLBI Division of Intramural Research. The purpose of acquiring this equipment is for live cell microscopy using Nikon’s spinning disk confocal microscope system, which uses the LunF-XL 4-Line Laser Combiner, and plate cells on a biomimetic substrate and analyze the specific changes of LIM domain proteins on the cytoskeleton in response to mechanical stimuli. The Laboratory of Cell and Tissue Morphodynamics, part of the CBPC of the NHLBI/NIH require the Nikon LunF-XL 4-Line Laser Combiner for their studies of Fibrosis.

Work Details
The Contractor must provide the Nikon LunF-XL 4-Line Laser Combiner with specific hardware modules, software, mirrors, filters, and a computer workstation meeting certain specifications. The required hardware modules include device control for various equipment such as Yokogawa CSU-W1, Sutter DG4/5, AOTF, Agilent, Lumencor SpectraX, Spinning Disk, ASI, Ludl, Prior, Maerzhauser stages, Sutter, Prior and Unibliz illumination devices including shutters and filter wheels.

The software required is NIS-Elements Advanced Research Package with additional licenses for 6D Image Acquisition and Analysis. Additionally, specific mirrors and filters are needed along with an Advanced Biosystems Z8 Workstation meeting minimum specifications based on HPZ8 featuring dual Xeon 3.8GHz CPUs, 128GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX A4000 GPU,512GB SSD OS drive, 1TB SSD data drive,8TB data storage.
