Meso Scale Discovery Assays

Background
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Office of Acquisitions (OA), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive sole source basis to Meso Scale Discovery to provide the MesoScale Discovery Assays. The research project requires the use of the mesoscale platform to measure biomarkers from patients with COVID-19 as part of an NHLBI funded phase 3 randomized clinical trial that evaluated the efficacy of fostamatinib in patients hospitalized with COVID-19. The purpose and objectives of the contract are for NHLBI to obtain mesoscale reagents to measure biomarkers in patient plasma samples.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide MesoScale Discovery Assays that meet specific specifications, including providing three plates: One (1) 2 Spot Plate, One (1) 3 Spot Plate, and One (1) 10 Spot Plate. The plates will contain various U-PLEX Human biomarkers such as G-CSF, GM-CSF, IFN-γ, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-18, MCP-1, TNF-α, IL-1RA, MMP-9 (total), TNF-RI, TNF-RII, and Custom Biomarker Group 3 assays. In cases of known incompatibilities, analytes will be provided on separate plates. The contract also specifies that V-PLEX® products are manufactured and sold solely by Meso Scale Discovery® (MSD), a division of Meso Scale Diagnostics, LLC of Rockville, MD.
