Background

Work Details

- Spot sandblasting all exterior components to near white metal;
- Applying a prime coat, base coat, and finish coat of paint to the exterior of the water tower;
- Restoring the historic color white with blue 'VA' on the four compass points.

All work must be performed in accordance with project plans and specifications. The work includes exterior only tasks related to water storage facilities, sandblasting (to near white), painting (using brush or roller for prime, base, and finish coats), and testing. The contractor is responsible for removing and disposing of all equipment and materials not scheduled for reuse. No asbestos or lead finds are anticipated. The anticipated trade for this construction project is general contracting.
