Background: The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Boise, ID is seeking proposals for a contract to provide specialty optical lenses for their Optical Fabrication Laboratory (OFL). The OFL has an ongoing program to furnish eyeglasses to eligible veterans, and they are looking for multiple contracts with providers capable of processing various types of lenses. The contract will be a 5-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with multiple awards.

Details: The contractor will be responsible for providing all lens materials, labor, equipment, and transportation required to produce complete ophthalmic lenses using frames provided by the OFL. The contractor must be able to process various types of lenses, including glass lenses, high power lenses, high prism lenses, and lenses with special coatings. The contractor will receive orders through VisionWeb and must deliver the completed eyeglasses to the OFL. The contractor must also provide fitting and adjustment services and a minimum one-year warranty on all items.

Period of Performance: The period of performance for this contract is from October 31, 2023 to October 30, 2028.

Place of Performance: All work will be done at the contractor's location, and the completed eyeglasses will be shipped back to the OFL at Boise VA Medical Center in Boise, ID.
