New -Specialty Mattress and Frames

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to procure and replace specialty mattresses and bariatric bed frames for the Amarillo VA Health Care System (AVAHCS). This initiative aims to support long-term patient care while reducing ongoing bed rental costs. The current reliance on rental mattresses has raised concerns regarding rising costs, mattress integrity, and patient safety, necessitating the acquisition of durable specialty mattresses that enhance patient outcomes.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide the following items:
- 8 Standard Low Air Loss Mattress Systems (mattress and blower)
- 2 Bariatric Low Air Loss Mattress Systems (mattress and blower)
- 2 Bariatric Bed Frames
- 4 Bariatric Foam Mattresses.
All mattresses must include a five-year non-prorated warranty covering both interior and exterior components. Specific clinical and functional requirements include:
- Prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers up to Stage IV (air systems) or Stage II (foam mattresses).
- Compatibility with Hill-Rom, Stryker, Stryker Spirit Select 5700, and Centrella Smart bed frames.
- Features such as alternating pressure, low air loss, immersion and envelopment, moisture-vapor-permeable covers, firm edge perimeters, and customized dimensions. Additionally, the contractor must provide installation services, training for staff, and maintenance inspections as per manufacturer standards.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from July 24, 2026 to July 23, 2027.

Place of Performance
Amarillo VA Health Care System, 6010 Amarillo Blvd. West, Amarillo TX 79106.

Bidder Requirements
This solicitation is set aside for Small Business participation. Bidders must provide an authorized distributor letter from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and demonstrate technical capability in accordance with the Statement of Work.
