THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)/SOURCES SOUGHT DISCLAIMER This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. The submission of pricing, capabilities for planning purposes, and other market information is highly encouraged and allowed under this RFI In Accordance With (IAW) FAR Part 15.201(e). SOURCES SOUGHT DESCRIPTION This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a RFI/sources sought only. The purpose of this sources sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 339114 (size standard of 750 Employees). Responses to this sources sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 15 Network Contracting Office, is seeking sources that can provide the following,: Requirements: JSN Nomenclature Quantity U0022 Dental Imaging Software License Expansion 1 X6500 X-Ray Unit, Dental, 3D 1 X6600 Radiographic Unit, Dental, Wall Mounted, 7 mA 7 X6610 Sensor Kit, Dental Imaging System, Size 1 & Size 2 7 Specifications: Dental Imaging Software License Expansion: Software License must be included for 3D imaging machine to have the ability to communicate between the machine and VA computers. X-Ray Unit, Dental, 3D: The system shall be a Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging system capable of performing 2D panoramic, 3D CBCT, and optional cephalometric imaging for dental, oral surgery, endodontic, orthodontic, and maxillofacial applications. System shall be new, current production model. Imaging Capabilities Must provide: 2D digital panoramic imaging 3D CBCT imaging Optional cephalometric imaging capability (expandable or integrated) Field of View (FOV) options ranging from small focused volumes (~5x5 cm) up to large craniofacial volumes (~16x17 cm or equivalent). High-resolution imaging with voxel sizes as small as 75-150 m (or better). Adjustable FOV selection to limit patient radiation exposure. Metal artifact reduction (MAR) or equivalent technology. Detector & Image Quality Flat panel digital detector technology. High-contrast resolution suitable for: Implant planning Endodontic diagnosis TMJ evaluation Airway analysis Grayscale depth minimum 14-bit or equivalent. Automatic exposure control or programmable exposure settings. Software & Workflow Manufacturer-provided imaging software included. Software shall support: Implant planning tools Nerve tracing Airway measurement TMJ analysis Endodontic assessment DICOM 3.0 compliant. Integration capability with PACS and third-party practice management systems. 3D rendering and multiplanar reconstruction (MPR). Export capability in STL format for surgical guides. Patient Positioning & Ergonomics Open-face design or patient-friendly configuration. Positioning guides (minimum three planes). Adjustable chin rest, head supports, and temple supports. Motorized height adjustment. Accommodates standing and seated (wheelchair accessible) patients. Touchscreen interface mounted on unit. Power: 110-240V, 50/60Hz. Compatible with standard dental operatory electrical infrastructure. Network connectivity via Ethernet Radiographic Unit, Dental, Wall Mounted, 7mA The system shall be a wall-mounted intraoral dental X-ray unit with extended reach (long arm configuration) for use in general dentistry, oral surgery, and specialty dental clinics. Imaging Performance High-frequency DC X-ray generator. Constant potential output for consistent image quality. Tube voltage approximately 60-70 kVp. Tube current approximately 7 mA (or equivalent). Exposure time range suitable for digital sensors and phosphor plates. Compatible with: Digital intraoral sensors Traditional film Rectangular collimation capability (preferred) to reduce patient dose. Focal spot size approximately 0.7 mm or smaller. Long Arm Configuration Extended arm reach minimum 81 inches (or equivalent). Double-articulating arm for flexible positioning. Smooth, drift-free positioning. Stable tube head that maintains selected position without sag. Wall-mounted installation with appropriate structural support requirements provided. Long arm shall accommodate large operatories and specialty treatment rooms. Control & Interface Wall-mounted control panel. Programmable exposure presets for: Adult anterior/posterior Pediatric anterior/posterior Digital display for exposure time. Manual exposure adjustment capability. Error codes or diagnostic display. Safety & Radiation Protection Compliance with FDA and NCRP radiation standards. Minimum total filtration equivalent to 2.5 mm aluminum at 70 kVp. Dead-man type exposure switch. Minimum source-to-skin distance compliant with federal standards. Audible and visual exposure indicators. Leakage radiation within regulatory limits. Mechanical & Ergonomic Features Lightweight tube head. 360-degree rotational capability at arm and tube head joints. Smooth, low-resistance movement. Sealed, oil-cooled X-ray tube housing. Easy-to-clean surfaces suitable for clinical infection control. Electrical Requirements Standard 110-120V electrical service. Compatible with standard dental operatory electrical infrastructure. Line voltage regulation to ensure stable output. Sensor Kit, Dental Imaging System, Size 1 & Size 2 The system shall consist of direct digital intraoral radiography sensors, Size 1 and Size 2, compatible with standard intraoral dental X-ray generators. Sensors shall be new, current production models designed for high-resolution diagnostic imaging in general dentistry and specialty dental clinics. Sensor Technology CMOS or equivalent digital sensor technology. True resolution minimum 20 line pairs/mm (or equivalent high-resolution performance). Theoretical resolution up to 24 lp/mm (or equivalent). Pixel size approximately 19-20 m (or better). Active imaging area optimized for diagnostic accuracy. Must include: Size 1 (Pediatric/Anterior) Active area approximately 20 x 30 mm (or equivalent). Slim profile for patient comfort. Rounded corners for intraoral comfort. Size 2 (Adult/Posterior Standard) Active area approximately 26 x 36 mm (or equivalent). Standard adult posterior imaging size. Ergonomic shape for ease of positioning. Image Quality & Performance High contrast resolution suitable for: Caries detection Endodontic evaluation Periapical imaging Periodontal assessment Wide dynamic range. Noise reduction capability. Automatic exposure detection. Compatible with standard 60-70 kVp intraoral X-ray units. Durability & Construction Shock-resistant housing. Reinforced cable attachment. Cable length minimum 2 meters (or equivalent). Water-resistant and disinfectant-resistant outer casing. IP rating suitable for clinical dental environments. Sensor thickness designed to enhance patient comfort. Software & Integration Manufacturer-provided imaging software included or compatible. TWAIN and DICOM compliant. Compatible with: PACS systems Dental imaging software platforms Practice management systems USB connectivity. Plug-and-play configuration. Infection Control Compatible with standard disposable sensor barriers. Smooth, sealed housing for disinfection. Manufacturer-recommended cleaning protocols provided. Electrical & Technical Requirements USB 2.0 or higher connectivity. Compatible with Windows-based acquisition workstations.
