Description

Under Statutory Authority 40 U.S.C 501 and 41 U.S.C 251 the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Olympus America, Inc for Urology Equipment Lease with Services. The contractor will provide the brand name only for Olympus (OEM) Urology Equipment to include preventative maintenance, repair services, training and support. Olympus America, Inc. (OEM) does not have any authorized partners to provide for the preventative maintenance, repair services, training and support. Olympus brand equipment. The VA Illiana Health Care System, Danville, IL is currently using the Olympus brand equipment. The surgical department also has the Olympus video processor, light source, towers, and monitors and boom that work with the Olympus scopes during the procedures. Sterile Processing Service is equipped with Olympus brand endoscope re-processors, brushes, leak testers, and all the needed chemistries to safely reprocess the scopes for use. Any non-Olympus parts will invalidate the manufacturer s limited warranty, and it will invalidate the reprocessing (cleaning and disinfection) instructions provided in the device s instruction for use. The brand name equipment and preventative maintenance, repair services, training and support is proprietary to the OEM Olympus. This acquisition is conducted under the authority of 40 U.S.C. 501 and 41 U.S.C. 251 implemented in FAR 8.405-6, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This will be a firm fixed price delivery order for a base plus four option years. The NAICS Code is 334510. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation documents are available, and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service to the Contracting Officer by 10:00AM (CST) 05/13/2025. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Contracting Officer will proceed with the sole source negotiation with the Olympus America, Inc. Capability statements shall be submitted by email only as a MS Word or Adobe PDF attachment to Jennifer Mead at Jennifer.Mead@va.gov. TELEPHONIC INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
