The Contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the deliverables described in this Statement of Work (SOW), except as may otherwise be specified. Palo Alto VA Medical Center-Menlo Park needs 75 beds/mattresses/accessories. The contractor will need to contact the Palo Alto VA Medical Center-Menlo Park Biomedical Department Supervisor through the Contracting Officers Representative before any bed installations/deliveries have taken place to discuss bed cable connections. The contractor will provide onsite education to all who need competency training on the beds; (provide printed competency check-off sheets) and sign off on the initial competency checkoffs after training each employee. Once all unit-based educators (UBE) have been trained, this will be sufficient to satisfy this requirement. Contractor will assist with the terminal cleaning and set-up of all delivered beds before they are delivered. After thorough analysis, the following needs and requirements were determined by the facility. Palo Alto VA Medical Center-Menlo Park determined Umano beds to have a low push pull force requirement, providing maneuverability. Additionally, low height, underbed clearance, built-in foot extender, and expandable sides from a single point to accommodate larger patients are all features that made Umano the best clinical fit for the Palo Alto VA Medical Center-Menlo Park .
