Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the LTC Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center, is seeking to enhance the efficiency, safety, and ergonomics of its procedure rooms in Primary Care by procuring ceiling-mounted surgical boom systems. This procurement aims to improve workflow, reduce clutter, and enable access to critical utilities and equipment during medical procedures. The requirement is based on compatibility with existing equipment and standardization across clinical areas.

Work Details
The contract involves the delivery of three (3) surgical boom systems and one (1) surgical light for the new Primary Care Side D and Urology renovations at the LTC Charles S. Kettles VAMC located at 2215 Fuller Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. The specifications for the surgical boom systems include:

- Ceiling mounted equipment boom with a minimum of 2 power, 2 data, 2 oxygen, and 2 suction ports.
- Integrated equipment shelf system with a minimum of 3 shelves and a maximum of 5 shelves.
- Minimum shelf weight capacity of 175 lbs.
- Full electric brake system with touch brake controls.
- 330˚ rotation capability.
- Boom arm reach range between 55” – 120” with a minimum weight capacity of 500 lbs.
- Minimum of 2 IV hooks.

Additionally, two ceiling mounted surgical lights are required:

- Capable of producing an output of 160,000 lux with sterile control functions including brightness and spot size adjustments.
- LED lifetime up to 50,000 hours with a color temperature of 4900K.

The project also includes installation services that encompass disposal, constructing areas, installing fixtures, and final terminal cleaning. Documentation required includes two hard copies and one digital copy of operator manuals for each boom system along with on-site training for clinical users and maintenance personnel.
