Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Wilmington VA Medical Center, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE, 19805, intends to negotiate a sole source order under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(B) (Only one source) for Max-Air Controlled Air Purifying Respirators with Native Instinct LLC of 3206 Canal Drive, Boynton Beach FL 33434. The Justification and Approval for this action is attached. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used, and the resulting contract will be a firm fixed-price open market order. The NAICS Code is 339112. This special notice serves as notice of intent to award a sole source a contract and is not a request for competitive proposals and is not a solicitation or a request for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government. End of Document

Work Details
The Wilmington VAMC requires the sole source purchase of 100 Max-Air Controlled Air Purifying Respirators and accessories to provide respiratory protection against airborne particulates. The equipment will be utilized in current active cases of TB, COVID-19 and other airborne illnesses, and also in preparedness for future occurrences.
The estimated value of the proposed action is to provide both staff and patients protection against TB, COVID-19 and other airborne illnesses.
