Statement of Need/Work 1. Title of Project: Radio Surgical NeoProbe and Collimator | 646-24-2-222-0329 | VA-24-00042405 2. Background and Scope of Work: Surgical Services is requesting to procure three (3) Brand Name or Equal to Devicor Medical Products - Radio Surgical NPR14 NeoProbe s and NPE14 Collimator s for the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) Operating Room. Replacing current instruments with the same platform. This is replacing damaged components to the current system that has been taken out of service negatively impacting surgeries and patient care until repairs can be made. The Radio Surgical NPR14 NeoProbe s, and NPE14 Collimator s feature: The easy-to-use Neoprobe GDS leaves the surgeon free to focus on the patient and the procedure. Improved speed of start up with upgraded software and internal components. No calibration or preventative maintenance required. One touch remote count functionality within the sterile field. Utilizes gamma detection technology making the device more sensitive and improving the desired surgical procedure outcome. Clinical Advantages: Individual counts for radioactive tracer and radioactive seed simultaneously. On screen target count display for convenient reference. Exceptional Accuracy Outstanding directionality with or without collimation, Highest sensitivity for even the most challenging cases. System components: Corded power supply We feel these qualities are especially important/valuable in the Operating Room program. In addition to increased procedural effectiveness and safety, this technology can lead to improved clinical outcomes. 3. Scheduling, Hours of Work, and Location: Delivery shall be within thirty (30) days from the time of award. Deliveries shall be made to the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center at University Drive C. Pittsburgh, PA 15240; Attn; Warehouse. Biomedical Engineering will need to perform a safety check and enter the equipment into the system for annual Preventive Maintenance (PM) checks. Placement in the TAVR suite shall be coordinated through the Contracting Officer Representative. COR P.O.C. Aloysius Simons (Aloysius.Simons@va.gov) Business Resource Specialist, FAC-COR I VA Pittsburgh Medical Center University Drive C, Room 2A118 412-360-6587 REPORTS/DELIVERABLES: Delivery confirmation of equipment and commodities will be made through BioMed and the Logistics Department of the VA Pittsburgh (646). This will include documentation of receipt and assignment of a facility based EE number for identification and tracking purposes. Delivery confirmation of non-equipment/ commodities acquisitions is the responsibility of the receiving facility and/ or Service. PERIOD OF SERVICE: Delivery must be made no later than 30 days After Receipt of Order HIPAA Training Certificates: If Contractor will be working onsite for installation and activation of equipment, all HIPAA training completion documentation must be provided to the POC listed in the awarded contract. TOBACCO: All VA Medical Centers property is tobacco free. Contractor personnel will comply with Pittsburgh VA tobacco and smoking policies. Violations will result in a warning and possible citation. COVID-19 Related Policies Upon entering VA, per CDC and federal regulations, all personnel must wear the required PPE while on-site; at a minimum this includes a cloth mask. PPE will not be provided by VA. All individuals are required to enter through the main entrance for temperature screening. If Contractor s temperature exceeds the designated threshold, they will be asked to leave. In the event of an FSE being forced to vacate the premises, they shall notify the necessary Biomedical Engineering staff and provide a contact for a replacement.
