The following is a Sources Sought/Request for Information notice. This posted notice is not a Pre- Solicitation or Solicitation document. The government is not currently soliciting bids, quotes or proposals: however, reserves the right to do so at a later date. The James E Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona, PA 16602 has a base plus four year requirement to furnish artificial limbs and orthoses to eligible Veterans requiring them. General Requirements: Artificial limbs, parts and repairs must be procured, fabricated and issued to eligible beneficiaries by prescription from a designated physician assigned to the Amputee Clinic Team or from the Prosthetic Representative in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined in the Provision of Prosthetic and Rehabilitative Items and Services (PARIS) Regulation and VHA Directive 2012-020. Contractor shall not add or substitute components or alter the beneficiary s limb prescription in any way without prior approval and written authority from the VA Amputee Clinic Team Prosthetic Representative or designee. Veterans who are eligible for Orthotic services may be provided with arch supports, shoe modifications, functional foot orthotics, depth inlay shoes, healing shoes, custom-made orthopedic shoes, and alternative footwear. Footwear and modifications must be prescribed by the appropriate VAMC clinician and in accordance with the 1173 Handbook and the PAVE Directive. Background
