Blood Products and Blood Product Services Shreveport and Alexandria VAMC

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to procure Blood Products and Blood Product Services for the Alexandria and Shreveport VA Medical Centers (VAMC) in Louisiana.

The goal of this contract is to ensure a consistent and adequate supply of blood and related services that meet the standards established by recognized accrediting agencies such as the AABB, FDA, and CAP. This procurement is essential for maintaining healthcare resources for veterans.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide Blood and Related Products and Services, ensuring availability 24/7. Key requirements include:
- Blood components must be drawn, processed, tested, typed, and packed in suitable containers.
- Delivery must be made FOB destination to Alexandria VA Health Care System and Overton Brooks VAMC Shreveport.
- Emergency (STAT) requests must be fulfilled within specified timeframes: 1 hour for specimen pickup, 2 hours for delivery to Overton Brooks VAMC, and 4 hours for Alexandria VA Health Care System.
- All blood provided must come from 100% volunteer donors in compliance with FDA regulations.
- The contractor must maintain an adequate stock of blood products on-site at both medical centers.

Period of Performance
The estimated period of performance is five years, beginning October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2031.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Alexandria VA Health Care System located at 2495 Shreveport Highway 71, Pineville, LA, and Overton Brooks VAMC Shreveport located at 510 East Stoner Avenue, Shreveport, LA.
