NOI-Sole Source: DSI rat blood pressure transmitter exchange (Model: HD-S11-F0)   2

Background
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Research and Development (ORD) Center for Public Health and Environmental Assessment (CPHEA) located in Research Triangle Park, NC has a requirement to purchase six (6) rat blood pressure transmitters; Model HD-S11-F0 and twelve (12) Model HD-S11-FO Item # 270-0190-001X from manufacturer and supplier, Data Science International (DSI). Data Sciences International, Inc, 119 14th Street NW Suite 100, Saint Paul, MN 55112, has been identified as the sole source provider to meet the requirements for ORD-CPHEA and as the only responsible source that can provide these specific, required telemetry devices, equipment, hardware, software, and surgical services. DSI is the only company that produces this proprietary telemeter model, and no other transmitter will work with the DSI hardware and software systems that are already in use at ORD-CPHEA. Additionally, DSI is the only company that can exchange old, obsolete telemeters for new telemeters.

Work Details
The EPA intends to purchase six (6) rat blood pressure transmitters; Model HD-S11-F0 and twelve (12) Model HD-S11-FO Item # 270-0190-001X from Data Science International (DSI). The acquisition is being conducted under Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The notice specifies that DSI is the only company that produces this proprietary telemeter model and can exchange old, obsolete telemeters for new telemeters.
