Description

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this solicitation for the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) to replace the sewer riser.

The goal of this contract is to ensure that necessary plumbing work is completed efficiently and effectively, maintaining the facility's operational integrity.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Coordination and development of an effective sewer drain bypass to facilitate work on the existing 6" sewer drain, with core drilling permitted.
2. Demolition and removal of the existing 6" sewer drain and Y-fittings from the second to the fifth floor, as well as the existing 4" drain line located in the basement level (B2 ceiling space).
3. Furnishing and installation of a new 6" sewer drain and Y-fittings from the second to fifth floor, along with a 4" corrosion-resistant cast iron drain line and Y-fittings in the basement level (B2 ceiling space).
4. Adding bracing to newly installed pipes to provide support against axial and lateral deflection or movement.
5. Performing appropriate testing to verify that all work meets acceptable standards.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Portland VAMC seeks a contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and all other resources necessary to perform services required for the following work:
