CAVHCS-Two-Way Radio System Replacement

Background
The CAVHCS-West Campus Montgomery, part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking to procure a replacement for the Two-Way Radio Communications System at both the Montgomery and Tuskegee VA Medical Centers. This initiative aims to enhance communication reliability for utilities management, daily maintenance, and emergency response across the campuses. The existing system comprises discontinued components that require replacement to ensure secure and effective communications.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide a replacement Two-Way RF Radio Communication System at both CAVHCS Campuses - Montgomery and Tuskegee VA Medical Centers. The scope includes:
1. Engineering & Design: RF surveys, system architecture, IP linking via VA network, channel/talkgroup planning.

2. Procurement: Radios (Motorola SLR 5700 or equivalent), chargers (Motorola IMPRES 6-Unit Chargers or equivalent), repeaters, antennas, UPS units, and accessories.

3. Installation: Repeaters, antennas, racks, UPS, surge protection, IP configuration.

4. Programming: VA-assigned frequencies, emergency alert features, AES-256 encryption.

5. Testing & Commissioning: Coverage verification and emergency feature validation.

6. Training & Documentation: Staff training and administrative training with as-built diagrams.

7. Warranty & Support: Minimum 12-month warranty with preventive maintenance plan.

Period of Performance
Delivery of all equipment is estimated to be 6 weeks after the award date.
