Sd Waubay NWR Fence Repair

Background
The Fish & Wildlife Service is issuing this solicitation for the repair and replacement of fencing at the Waubay National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in South Dakota. The mission of the agency is to manage and protect fish, wildlife, and their habitats. The goal of this contract is to ensure proper grazing control on the refuge and prevent trespass grazing from adjacent private lands by replacing degraded boundary and interior fences.

Work Details
The project involves the removal and replacement of fencing at Waubay NWR. The scope includes:

1. Replacement of boundary fences to control livestock entry into the Refuge, with a phased approach based on priority.
2. Installation of new gates to facilitate access.
3. Boundary fence specifications include:
- 6ft 6in steel T-posts
- 4ft x 8ft wooden line posts
- Five strands of 12.5 gauge barbed wire
- H-braces every 1320ft and at corners
- All steel posts painted green
4. Interior fence specifications include:
- 6ft steel T-posts
- 4in x 8ft wooden line posts
- Four strands of 12.5 gauge barbed wire
5. Approximately six gates will be installed at designated access points.
6. All fencing must be pulled tight and visually straight, with final alignment directed by Refuge staff.
