Gettysburg Fence Repair Materials to Be Delivered   2

Background
The contract is issued by the National Park Service (NPS), specifically the Northeast Regional Contracting office, to procure materials for the repair and maintenance of historic fences at Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site. The NPS is responsible for maintaining over 80 miles of historic fence lines, ensuring they meet standards that reflect their historical significance. The goal of this contract is to purchase Virginia Worm fence materials necessary for these repairs.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a total of 3,000 Virginia Worm fence materials, specifically:

1. **Post and Rail Fencing**:
- Quantity: 3,000 individual wood rails
- Specifications: 11-foot-long rails, ACQ treated, hand split Virginia Worm fence rails for constructing 5-post and rail fences with 10-foot panels. Minimum acceptable cut is quarter sawn with 90% of the angle facing out. Taper should occur in the last 12 inches on each side of the rail. Girth of wood rail to be between 14 inches minimum and 17 inches maximum after finishing. Species: poplar and/or oak.

2. **Virginia Worm Fencing**:
- Quantity: 3,000 individual wood rails
- Specifications: 11-foot long, ACQ treated, hand-split or rough sawn stack rails for construction of Virginia worm fence. Girth of wood rail to be between 11 inches minimum and 14 inches maximum after finishing. Species: poplar and/or oak.

Delivery must include transportation to a storage facility or worksite within 10 miles of Gettysburg, PA.
