Description

The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, supplies and supervision to remediate water/mold damage resulting from a water line break in building 29, room A1011/A1011-A/A1011-G and building 1, room 530 at Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center in accordance with the Statement of Work.

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 17 has issued a contract for mold remediation services at the Bonham Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC).

The goal of this contract is to address water and mold damage resulting from a broken pipe in the HVAC system, specifically affecting Building 29, room A1011/A1011-A/A1011-G and Building 1, room 530.

The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, equipment, tools, materials, supplies, and supervision to effectively remediate the affected areas in accordance with the provided Statement of Work.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Physical and mechanical isolation of the affected areas within Building 29 – CLC Gym from the remainder of the structure.
2. Limited removal and disposal of porous building materials as necessary.
3. In-situ remediation for salvageable semi and non-porous materials.
4. Packing out and isolating affected contents at a climate-controlled storage facility for remediation prior to reintroduction into the reconstructed environment.
5. Remediation procedures including:
- Constructing containment areas with fire-resistant polyethylene sheeting under negative pressure.
- Removal of water-damaged sheetrock (walls and ceilings) at least 18 inches beyond visible contamination.
- Inspection and cleaning or disposal of affected contents.
- Removal of affected vinyl floor planks and cove base with proper disposal methods.
6. Personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements for workers during remediation activities, including Tyvek suits and N95 respirators.

Place of Performance
The remediation work will be performed at the Bonham Veterans Affairs Medical Center located at 1201 E. 9th Street in Bonham, Texas.
