Hptc Fortaleza Wall Scaffold 5

Background
La Fortaleza, the first fortification built in San Juan harbor, was constructed between 1533 and 1540. It has historical significance as it was established to defend against Carib Indian raids and has been involved in various military conflicts throughout its history. Currently, La Fortaleza Wall requires preservation maintenance and masonry repair due to extensive vegetation growth causing structural damage. This project aims to remove vegetation, repair damage, and clean the wall's surface.

Work Details
The Contractor is responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and travel necessary to design, erect, assemble, and install OSHA compliant scaffolding at Section 5 of La Fortaleza Wall. The scaffolding will be erected on El Paseo facing the wall with at least two staircases for entry. The total surface area of the wall is approximately 8025 sq ft (745 m²), with a linear distance of about 180 feet to be repaired. Scaffolding will be erected in two phases: Phase 1 will remain for approximately 45 days for inspection before moving to Phase 2 for an additional 45 days. The wall height is approximately 50 feet from ground level. Each scaffolding level must be fully planked with guard rails and toe boards to comply with OSHA standards.
