The Boise VA Medical Center is seeking a vendor to remove approximately 475 square feet of asbestos containing black mastic, under non-asbestos floor tile, in our former medical records room. The chosen contractor must be capable of providing personnel, supervision, equipment, supplies, certifications, transportation, waste disposal, and other resources necessary for asbestos abatement in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.

The Contractor shall remove approximately 475 square feet of asbestos containing black mastic located under non-asbestos floor tile. The asbestos containing materials must be removed from the base concrete floor of Room G26 without causing noticeable damage. All flooring materials within the scope of work must be removed from the Boise VA Medical Center campus and disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.

Background
The Boise VA Medical Center is seeking a contractor to remove approximately 475 square feet of asbestos-containing black mastic located under non-asbestos floor tile in the former medical records room.

Work Details
The Contractor shall perform the following tasks:
1. Remove approximately 475 square feet of asbestos-containing black mastic from the base concrete floor of Room G26 without causing noticeable damage.
2. Ensure all flooring materials are removed from the Boise VA Medical Center campus and disposed of according to local, state, and federal regulations.
3. Submit a written asbestos abatement plan prior to commencing work, detailing the step-by-step process for abatement, including EPA notification documentation and certifications for workers performing the abatement activities.
4. Conduct pre-abatement planning that includes a negative exposure assessment (optional).
5. Manage the removal of wooden platforms that cover the asbestos flooring, either before or during the abatement process as specified in the SOW.
