Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for the replacement of five air handling units (AHUs) in building A, which have been identified as mechanically deficient.

The goal of this contract is to ensure the efficient operation of HVAC systems within the facility, thereby supporting the VA's mission to provide quality care to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, supervision, excavation, demolition, temporary utilities, and project management necessary for the project.

Specific tasks include: replacing AHUs 1A-AH02, BA-AH03, 1A-AH05, 4A-AH17 with associated ERU 4A-AH26, and A4-AH19 with associated ERU 6A-AH28; conducting limited demolition and structural modifications; and replacing plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and controls as needed.

Work will also involve minor remodeling to support mechanical and electrical improvements while adhering to VA standards. Temporary units will be assembled without demolishing architectural elements. The contractor must patch and repair any damage to existing finishes and maintain fireproofing and infection control measures throughout construction.

The HVAC systems will utilize new air handlers connected to existing chilled water cooling and steam heating systems while ensuring compliance with energy code requirements. The electrical scope includes critical tasks to support AHU replacements in designated rooms while utilizing existing infrastructure.

The construction projects will take place at the Department of Veterans Affairs facility located in building A.
