5 CES Propylene Glycol

Background
The Department of the Air Force, specifically the 5th Contracting Squadron at Minot AFB, ND, is issuing a solicitation for a new requirement to procure bulk propylene glycol. This product is essential for use in boiler systems at Minot AFB and must adhere to specific environmental and safety standards.

The goal of this contract is to ensure that the 5th Civil Engineer Squadron (5 CES) has the necessary materials for effective heat transfer fluid management in their operations.

Work Details
The contract requires the delivery of 3000 gallons of propylene glycol that meets the following specifications:
- 95 to 98% bio-based propylene glycol for boiler systems heat transfer fluid
- Premixed with less than 5% corrosion inhibitors
- Dyed green
- Pre-diluted with less than 5% deionized water to achieve freeze protection down to -60 degrees F
- Must meet USDA certified bio-based standards.

Additionally, propylene glycol is classified as Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), and all product specifications and certifications were coordinated with 5 CES Environmental Management during the development of this requirement.

Period of Performance
The product is to be delivered in bulk within 15 days after receipt of order (ARO) due to critical need identified for 5 CES.
