Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking contractors to provide fire extinguisher maintenance and inspections as part of their commitment to ensuring safety within their facilities. The goal of this contract is to maintain compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, specifically NFPA 10, which governs the maintenance and inspection of fire extinguishers. The contract will cover multiple VA Medical Centers located in California, ensuring that all fire extinguishers are properly maintained and inspected.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following services:
1. Annual Inspections and Maintenance for approximately 1,402 fire extinguishers, including 5lb dry chemical ABC extinguishers, 10lb CO2 extinguishers, and MRI compatible extinguishers.
2. Monthly inspections for an estimated 800 fire extinguishers as detailed in Attachment D.
3. Conducting hydrostatic tests as required by NFPA 10.
4. Maintaining records of annual service requirements and due dates for portable fire extinguishers across various VA locations including Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Livermore, Sunnyvale, and Mountain View.
5. Providing backup fire extinguishers when necessary during maintenance or recharge periods.
6. Reporting on the functionality of fire extinguisher cabinets and identifying any needing repair.
7. Compliance with all safety and security requirements outlined by the VA.

Period of Performance
Base Period: October 1, 2025 - September 30, 2026 with one optional renewal period extending to September 30, 2027.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations including:
- VA Medical Center at 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA
- 795 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA
- 4951 Arroyo Road, Livermore, CA
- Additional off-site locations within the East and West Bays.
