Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing a Sources Sought Notice for Hospital Ice and Water Dispensers to serve the New York Harbor Healthcare System, which includes facilities in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and St. Albans. This notice is intended for market research to determine the interest and capability of small business manufacturers or distributors of such equipment.

Work Details
The requirement is for seven (7) Hospital Ice and Water Dispensers with the following salient characteristics:
- Freestanding ice and water dispenser.
- SensorSafe infrared touchless dispensing technology.
- Dispenses chewable nugget-style ice.
- Integrated water dispensing capability.
- Commercial-grade construction suitable for healthcare environments.
- Designed for continuous operation in a medical facility setting.
- NSF and UL listed/certified, as applicable.
- Compatible with potable water supply and standard electrical service.

Specifications include:
- Dispenses 25 lbs of soft chewable compressed nugget ice that can produce up to 425 lbs daily.
- Quiet night sleep mode.
- Automatic self-flushing of ice machine to remove impurities.
- Drain cup with antimicrobial properties.
- Frame and exterior cabinet made of stainless steel; corrosion-resistant poly drain pan, grille, and dispenser lid.
- Fully assembled; installs with connection of electric, water, and drain.
- Warranty: 3 years parts and labor with 5 years compressor parts.

Bacterial-Retentive Filtration System Requirements:
- Primary Sterilizing Filter: 0.2-micron double-layer sterilizing-grade disposable filter capsule capable of reducing bacterial contamination from the water supply suitable for potable applications in healthcare environments.
- Prefiltration: 1-micron absolute-rated pre-filter designed to remove particulate matter.

Contractor Responsibilities include delivery, installation coordination with VA POC, operational testing, removal of packing materials, providing orientation and training to VA staff, and furnishing all necessary documentation.
