SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS (KATO MOTOR GENERATORS)

The Defense Logistics Agency Maritime Puget Sound is issuing this sources sought and request for information as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support a requirement for two (2) each, 75KVA 400Hz KATO Motor Generator in accordance with the attached salient characteristics. The results of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 335312 with a business size standard of 1250.

THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.

Background
The Defense Logistics Agency Maritime Puget Sound is conducting market research to identify parties interested in supporting a requirement for two 75KVA 400Hz KATO Motor Generators. This initiative aims to gather information that will inform the procurement method.

Work Details
The contract involves the provision of two identical 400Hz KATO Motor-Generator sets, which must meet the following salient characteristics:

1. Each unit must be designed like existing portable 400Hz Kato Motor-Generator units, featuring CAMLOCKs for incoming and outgoing power.

2. Specifications include:
- 100 HP motor driving a 75 KVA, 60 KW generator
- Rotary Frequency Converter System
- Input: 480V, 3-Phase, 60 Hz; Output: Adjustable 120-127V, 400Hz (+/- 2Hz), 3-Phase
- Incoming power via single pole DURALINE CAM-LOK Input (Male) with specified cable sizes and colors; tethered caps included
- Output power via single pole DURALINE CAM-LOK Output (Female) with specified fittings; tethered caps included
- NEMA 3R weather-resistant enclosures; designed for continuous duty and adverse weather conditions
- Forklift and crane lift capable with certified padeyes; small footprint of 56”W x 84”L x 75”H
- Freight included in the quote; final destination at Subase Bangor, Trident Refit Facility, Silverdale, Washington
- Each unit powered by a 200A, 480V cable connected to two sets of CAMLOCK outputs for shore power cables; designed to minimize inductive reactance at high frequency
- Consists of a brushless synchronous motor and generator system with emergency stop button; factory wired and UL listed

3. Compliance with applicable CFR Title 29, Part 1910 regulations required; equipment must be NRTL inspected and certified.

The contract will be performed at Subase Bangor, Trident Refit Facility, Silverdale, Washington.
