Background
The US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) manages an inventory consisting of approximately 3500 pieces of heavy equipment with an estimated replacement value exceeding $300 million dollars. The use of heavy equipment is vital to FWS supporting conservation land management and fire suppression practices and natural disaster responses. FWS utilizes heavy equipment in diverse functions such as maintaining or constructing wetland impoundments and roads, enhancing areas for wildlife habitat, controlling invasive plants, maintaining and constructing modest visitor facilities, protecting and restoring valuable infrastructure and habitat before and after natural disaster occurrences.

Work Details
This requirement is for a service-wide Heavy Equipment Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The contract covers eight types of heavy equipment covering 27 categories of horsepower ranges. The solicitation is developed to deliver and supply heavy equipment to these facilities, as well as other Department of Fish and Wildlife facilities based on annual funding allocations and Regional replacement priorities. The contract includes specific requirements such as meeting the required machine specifications in Attachment A – Specifications/Pricing Table, local serviceability and support, a single national point of contact for purchases, warranties product support, and a mandatory subcontracting plan.

Facilities managed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service including National Wildlife Refuges, Wetland Management Districts, Wildlife Management Areas, National Fish Hatcheries distributed throughout the United States.
