Background
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration, is issuing this solicitation for grounds maintenance services at Fort Sheridan National Cemetery. The mission of the National Cemetery Administration is to honor Veterans and their eligible family members with final resting places in national shrines and lasting tributes that commemorate their service and sacrifice to the nation.

This contract aims to maintain the cemetery grounds to reflect the nation's concern for those interred there, ensuring a dignified and respectful environment.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform comprehensive grounds maintenance services which include:
- Mowing all turfgrass areas to present a well-manicured appearance in accordance with NCA Operational Standards;
- Edging all sidewalks and curbs;
- Blowing, sweeping, and removing debris;
- Treating fence lines;
- Ensuring that all work is performed with special care and respect for headstones and markers;
- Maintaining awareness of burial sites;
- Coordinating work around scheduled ceremonies to avoid disruptions;
- Adhering strictly to operational standards outlined in the Performance Work Statement.

The contractor is also responsible for replacing any damaged headstones or markers and restoring any turf damaged during maintenance activities.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a base period from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026, with four optional one-year extensions available until August 31, 2030.

Fort Sheridan National Cemetery, Vattman Road, Lake Forest, IL 60035.
