The USACE Marine Design Center of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is initiating this Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the procurement of four (4) Revetment Barges with an additional two (2) by option. The barges' primary mission will be to augment the Vicksburg District's existing fleet of revetment barges that support the Mat Sinking Unit.

The principal dimensions of each barge shall be as follows:

  • Length (Molded) 160'- 0"
  • Beam (Molded) 36'- 0"
  • Depth (Molded at Centerline) 11'-0
  • Bow Raked
  • Stern Raked
  • Sheer Forward 10' and aft 10'[NMRCUC(1]
  • Camber None

The Contractor shall deliver each vessel afloat and ready for service at the following location:

There are liquidated damages associated with this procurement.

Bid guarantee, payment, and performance bonding are required.

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Marine Design Center is initiating this Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the procurement of four (4) Revetment Barges, with an option for two additional barges.

The primary mission of these barges is to augment the existing fleet of revetment barges in the Vicksburg District that support the Mat Sinking Unit.

Work Details
The contractor shall deliver four new welded steel revetment barges with the following principal dimensions:
- Length (Molded): 160'-0"
- Beam (Molded): 36'-0"
- Depth (Molded at Centerline): 11'-0"
- Bow: Raked
- Stern: Raked
- Sheer: Forward 10’ and aft 10’
- Camber: None

Each barge will accommodate two rows of mat stacks, with 23 on the bottom and 22 on top, each stack comprising 14 squares at approximately 3,400 lbs. per square.

The contractor is responsible for providing engineering services, fabricating the barges according to specifications, testing all equipment, obtaining ABS Class certification, and delivering the completed barges to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg, MS.

Period of Performance
Delivery of the first barge is expected within 490 days after notice to proceed, with subsequent options for additional barges expected within 520 and 550 days respectively.
