Background
The NASA Biological Institutional Scientific Collection (NBISC) requires ultra-low temperature freezers for the storage and preservation of critical spaceflight and ground control biospecimens. The goal is to increase storage space for incoming specimens as a critical component of the operating Biospecimen Storage Facility (BSF).

Work Details
The contract requires the delivery of ultra-low temperature upright freezers with specifications including:

- Storage capacity of 27.5 cu. ft.
- Dimensions not exceeding 78.5H x 34.3W x 36D inches
- Power requirements of 120-240VAC at 50-60Hz
- Helium charged free-piston cooling engine
- Five adjustable stainless-steel shelves
- Temperature range from -20° to -86°C adjustable in 1°C increments.

The units must maintain temperature between -75C and -80C for half an hour after shutdown and include features such as:

- High-performance vacuum insulated panels
- Touchscreen interface
- Adjustable alarms
- Event log
- Energy-efficient modes
- Remote alarm connector accessory
- Pressure equalization port.
