Scope of Work: C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center Environmental Management Service (EMS) Grounds is requesting to purchase a Grappler Truck, Petersen 2025/2026 International MV607, Transmission A2000, Fuel Type Diesel, Brake Type Airbrake Name Brand or Equal non CDL . Background: The C.W VA Medical Center EMS Grounds requests to purchase a grapple truck to help pick up downed trees and limbs after hurricanes and severe weather events. This will help with proficiency and timeliness in clearing roads and parking lots. This truck can also be used when trimming trees. The grapple truck will pick up debris much more efficiently and effectively than by hand. This truck is also needed for regular tasks such as clearing paths in the conservancy. In 2024, EMS Grounds assisted with the cleanup of the Bay Pines Medical Center and Lee County Healthcare campuses after the two major hurricanes in 2024. Cleanup efforts were delayed because EMS Grounds did not have the means to remove very large fallen trees and hefty quantities of debris. EMS had to procure emergency purchase orders to have vendors come and provide the services that our own staff would have been able to accomplish with a grapple truck.

Background
The C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center Environmental Management Service (EMS) Grounds is seeking to purchase a grapple truck to enhance their ability to clear downed trees and limbs following hurricanes and severe weather events. This acquisition aims to improve the efficiency and timeliness of clearing roads and parking lots, as well as assist in regular tasks such as maintaining paths in the conservancy.

In 2024, EMS Grounds faced challenges during cleanup operations at the Bay Pines Medical Center and Lee County Healthcare campuses after two major hurricanes, leading to delays due to the lack of equipment capable of handling large fallen trees and substantial debris. The absence of a grapple truck necessitated emergency purchases from vendors for services that could have been performed by their own staff.
