Background
The FY 2027 Timber Harvest contract is issued by Arnold Air Force Base (Arnold AFB) in Tennessee. The mission of this contract is to facilitate the complete harvest of merchantable timber, which includes both pine and hardwood species, across approximately 40.5 acres of land. The goal is to manage forest resources effectively while ensuring compliance with environmental standards.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, supervision, equipment, and services necessary for the timber harvest. The estimated quantities of timber to be harvested include approximately 763 tons of pine saw-timber, 756 tons of pine pulpwood, 91,200 board feet of hardwood saw-timber, and 314 tons of hardwood pulpwood. All merchantable timber must be removed from the site and weighed or scaled for payment. The contractor is responsible for ensuring that all trees cut meet minimum specifications for the products bid. Payment will be based on a firm fixed price contract with bids placed per unit measure by product type. A performance bond of $2,000 is required before work commencement to guarantee faithful performance. Weekly payments will be made based on the total tons removed, with invoices submitted to the Base Forester.
