Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is responsible for conducting research in various fields including hydraulics, dredging, coastal engineering, geotechnical engineering, earthquake engineering, soil effects, vehicle mobility, military engineering, infrastructure and environmental issues for installations, computer science, telecommunications management, energy, facilities maintenance, materials and structures, engineering processes, environmental processes, land and heritage conservation, and ecological processes.
The ERDC consists of several laboratories located in different states.

Work Details
The resulting awards may be in the form of purchase orders, contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements depending upon the specifics of the effort. The announcement provides information on the preparation of proposals for basic or applied research.
Proposals from U.S. Government facilities and organizations will not be considered under this program announcement. The ERDC encourages proposals from Historically Black Colleges and Universities or Minority Institutions (HBCUs/MIs) for students to provide research support to any of the research and development areas listed in this BAA.
Small business concerns, women-owned small businesses, small disadvantaged business concerns, small businesses located in HUBZones, businesses participating in the Small Business Administration 8(a) program, and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses are also encouraged to submit research proposals for consideration.

Period of Performance
The announcement is continuously open; pre-proposals may be submitted and will be reviewed at any time throughout the year. The availability of funds may limit the ability of the U.S. Government to make awards in specific areas.

Place of Performance
The geographic locations where the work will be performed include Vicksburg, Mississippi; Hanover, New Hampshire; Champaign, Illinois; Alexandria, Virginia.
